Overture Weirdness

I ended up loading about 100 new words into Overture for infoproduct #2 today.  As of right now 469 have been declined as duplicate/blocked site. 

This really has me baffled.  They are saying that the word is a derivative of a word that I already had in there.  Pretty amazing since I only had 24 words to start with.

They are also saying that my content is not acceptable!  How this can be is amazing to me.  I think I might have to ask support for help - I have a feeling it is some type of automated decision.

Oh well, back to work.

Loading up Overture

Last night I logged onto Wordtracker to build a bigger keyword list for my two infoproducts.

I generated about 700 keywords for #1 and about 450 for #2.

Then I went over to Overture and submitted all 450 of them for product #2 - since I already had a small campaign set-up for there.

Today I hope to load up the campaign for #1, and see how it fares in Overture.

I can't wait to tally up my monthly totals!  Check back tomorrow for the update.....

Amazing results - over 100% ROI

I received two "you made a sale" emails today from an affiliate product I have been promoting via Adwords.  So I logged into to see how this campaign was fairing.  The clickthru rate is low, so I don't watch it that closely.

I have made $117 this month (7 sales) with a $53 ad spend.  NICE!

The problem with the campaign at this point is that the merchant also promotes heavily via PPC so my ad is not showing that often - hence the low number of displays and click-thrus.

Time to purchase a good domain, and create a simple landing page.....

A couple adjustments

I finally got a chance to make a couple of changes to my sales pages for #1 and #2 tonight.

I went over to iStockPhoto.com and purchased a two pictures of people that seem to look like the authors of my ebooks.  I use a pen name on these books.

I then added them to the sales page.  I have read that having a photo of the author on the page can increase conversions.  We will see.....

Sick Family Halts Progress :)

3 sick kids and 1 sick Wife have kept me off the computer most of the time for the last week.  No new progress or refinements to report, but the orders continue.

The power of PPC and Infoproducts

In this post I mentioned my income goal for January.  Well I blew by it today! :)

This is the power of PPC and information products.  I have been traveling all week on business - I ONLY checked my stats at night from the hotel.  No other work.  The traffic continued, and the sales rolled in right on track for the amount of traffic I had.

If you can find a product with a good conversion rate, PPC is so amazing!

I have a couple tweaks I want to make to both of my sales pages, but I just have not had time to make them happen.  Hopefully I can chip away at them this weekend.

InfoProduct #3 Launched

Infoproduct #3 is live.  Tonight I finished the tweaks to the sales page, loaded up the autoresponder with the ecourse, and got the payment links all set up. 

Then I went over to Adwords and loaded up 360 keyword variations for the niche.  Once traffic starts coming in I will further refine the adgroups and ads.

I also made some tweaks to my campaigns for #1 and #2, now that they have each had thousands of clicks - which is enough to make some decisions with.

Time to "Rinse and Repeat"

Today my profit for the month exceeded the profit for the entire month of December.  2006 is off to a good start!

Time to expand my empire - tomorrow I will be registering 3 new domains.  I am traveling a couple days this week for "work" - which will give me some airplane time, and long evenings to get the sites, autoresponders, Adwords, and payment links all set-up - hopefully for all three sites.

Once again these are info products, outside of the "making money" arena.

Tweaking Infoproduct #1

At lunch today I made a few tweaks to Infoproduct #1.  On this site I have a pop-up that offers free tips.  I then send them a series of daily tips.  I have anywhere from 50 to 100 people join this list a day.

So far if people convert to buyers it is usually just after tip #1 is sent.  So today I put together a special offer that will be sent on day 6.  The offer includes two free bonus books, as well as $5 off the normal price (21% savings).

One thing I might mention is that when a subscriber becomes a customer they are unsubscribed from this list, so if they purchase before day 6, they will not see this offer - if it all works right! :)

It will be interesting to see if this improves my ROI.  This product is just above the break even point, but not nearly as high as I would like to see it.  So ANY extra income will push it up to where I want it to be - which is why I am trying this tactic.
